Hessenticket
Experience Hessen in one day with the Hessenticket
- Up to 5 people can travel together for 42,50 euros.
- The Hessenticket is valid for any number of journeys within Hesse in one day.
- It is also valid on selected routes in neighbouring federal states.
- The ticket is valid Monday to Friday from 9am and all day on weekends and public holidays.
- You can use it on buses, local trains, trams, RegioTrams, S-Bahn and U-Bahn trains and AnrufSammelTaxen (AST) from NVV, RMV and VRN in Hesse in 2nd class.
- Don't forget to enter the names of all passengers before you start your journey. Once you have started,you cannot change any passengers.
Questions and answers about the Hessenticket
The Hessenticket is valid throughout Hesse, Mainz and even beyond the state borders:
- At the northern border of the NVV, you can use it to travel as far as North Rhine-Westphalia to the town of Warburg on the RE17, RE11, 120, 140, W3 and W4 lines.
- You can also use it to travel in Lower Saxony in the town of Hann. Münden with the districts of Bonafoth, Hedemünden, Laubach and Oberode as well as in the municipality of Staufenberg.
- The ticket is valid as far as Thuringia, but only on the RB 6 train line and bus route 260.
The Hessenticket is also valid beyond the borders of the RMV:
- You can use it to travel as far as Niederlaasphe station in the town of Bad Laasphe (North Rhine-Westphalia).
- On line 77, you can travel as far as Geisa in Thuringia.
- Lines X76, 201 and 275 take you to the district of Münchenroth in the municipality of Diethardt.
- Lines 204 and 275 take you to the municipality of Reckenroth.
- Line 191 takes you to the municipality of Sauerthal.
- Line LM-33 takes you to the municipality of Kaltenholzhausen.
- Lines RB 29 and RB 90 take you to Diez Ost station in the town of Diez (all Rhineland-Palatinate).
You can also use the Hessenticket in the transition tariff areas between VRN and RMV:
- You can travel to the towns of Hohensachsen and Lützelsachsen in the city of Weinheim.
- The town of Eberbach is also accessible.
- The ticket is valid in the city centre of Worms (VRN area 43) in Rhineland-Palatinate.
- And you can also use the Hessenticket in Mainz.
Please note that the Hessenticket is not valid in the transition tariff areas to Bavaria, VAB, Rhein-Nahe Nahverkehrsverbund (RNN), Verkehrsgemeinschaft Westfalen Süd (VGWS) and Rhein-Lahn-Kreis (RLK).
Carry along
- Children under the age of 7 who do not yet go to school can travel free of charge on buses and trains in the NVV area if they are accompanied by at least one person who has a valid ticket.

Bicycles can be taken along free of charge.
Please note:
- Please park your bike in the designated areas without disturbing other passengers.
- There is no guarantee that you will always be able to take your bike with you, but we will do our best to make this possible.
- In certain situations, transport company staff may prohibit you from taking your bike with you for operational reasons. Please understand that the staff's decisions regarding vehicle capacity and the appropriate parking location for your bike are ultimately for the safety of the passengers.
- If you are traveling with a group of cyclists, please notify the NVV service telephone at 0800-939-0800 (toll-free) at least 10 working days in advance. Please note that groups with bicycles cannot be taken on buses.
- It is not possible to take bicycles on AST (AnrufSammelTaxi) services.
- You can also use our bicycle parking facilities.

You can take your pet with you free of charge, but it is up to the train or bus staff to decide.
- Please keep dogs on a lead and keep an eye on them. Dangerous dogs must wear a muzzle. Dog breeds listed in §2 of the Dog Ordinance may not be transported.
Other pets may travel in suitable containers. - In a car, such as a AnrufSammelTaxi (AST), dogs may only be carried in a transport box, provided they are no larger than a domestic cat.
- Assistance dogs and guide dogs may always be taken along as long as the rules of §145 Para. 2 Sentence 2 of the SGB IX are followed.
