CityTicket

If your Deutsche Bahn ticket has the note ‘+City’, you can use public transport in selected cities on the day of departure or arrival to travel to the station or from the station to your destination – without an additional ticket.

CityTicket in Kassel

With the CityTicket, you can use public transport in the Kassel city area on the day of your outward or return journey to travel to or from the station.
The return ticket is also valid within the Kassel fare zone on the return date printed on the ticket.

If you have a BahnCard 100, you can use public transport in the Kassel fare zone for an unlimited period of time.

CityTicket in Bad Hersfeld

Since 1 January 2026, Deutsche Bahn's CityTicket has also been available for journeys to and from Bad Hersfeld. This makes Bad Hersfeld the second city in the NVV area, alongside Kassel, where the CityTicket can be used.

  • The CityTicket is included in Flexpreis tickets for DB long-distance travel starting or ending in Bad Hersfeld.
  • For Super Sparpreis and Sparpreis offers, the CityTicket can be added for an extra charge.

The CityTicket entitles you to use public transport in Bad Hersfeld for the journey to Bad Hersfeld station or from the station to your destination. It is valid on the departure and arrival dates stated on the ticket and can be recognised by the ‘+City’ note on the DB ticket.

Important note

DB tickets with CityTicket are excluded from the NVV 5-minute guarantee refund regulations.
