Deutschland-Ticket with Hessenpass mobile
- With proof of eligibility - Hessenpass mobil - you can buy a particularly affordableDeutschland-Ticket for 44 euros per month.
- You will receive the Hessenpass mobil if you live in Hessen and receive citizen’s benefit (Bürgergeld), housing benefit (Wohngeld) or social welfare (Sozialhilfe) or if you are an asylum seeker.
- The Hessenpass mobil is automatically sent to all eligible persons by the relevant office.
- With the discounted Deutschland-Ticket, you can use 2nd class public transport not only in Hesse, but throughout Germany.
Please note:
- The discounted Deutschland-Ticket is a subscription that is valid for 12 months.
- Payment is only made by SEPA direct debit via a bank account with a direct debit of 44 euros per month.
- When ordering, proof of Hessenpass mobil must be uploaded or presented.
- The ticket will only be delivered by post.
- Direct purchase is not possible.
Questions & Answers
- The discounted Deutschland-Ticket can be ordered online at the NVV subscription centre of the KVG. Proof of eligibility (Hessenpass mobil) must be uploaded. The discounted Deutschland-Ticket can also be ordered at the customer centre. Please bring your proof of eligibility (Hessenpass mobil) with you. The Deutschland-Ticket will be sent by post as an eTicket on a chip card. It is not possible to purchase the ticket directly at the sales office, nor can the Deutschland-Ticket be paid for in cash.
- The Hessenpass mobil as proof of eligibility is automatically sent by the relevant authority that also issues the social security benefit notification.
Exception
If citizen's income is received from one of the following job centres, the certificate is not issued automatically:
- City of Kassel
- Kassel district
- Schwalm-Eder district
- Waldeck-Frankenberg district
- City of Darmstadt
- City of Frankfurt am Main
- Giessen district
- Limburg-Weilburg district
In this case, you will receive the Hessenpass mobil upon request from your local social security provider.
- Orders must be placed by the 10th day of each calendar month for subscriptions to start on the 1st day of the following month.
- The ticket is valid for one person and is valid for 12 months from the desired start date.
- To pay for the discounted Deutschland-Ticket subscription, you must give the sales agent or transport company a SEPA direct debit mandate. This means that the cost of the discounted Deutschland-Ticket, €31 per month, will be debited from your bank account. You must therefore ensure that you have sufficient funds in your account to cover the monthly debits. Payment in cash or by bank transfer is not possible.
- Cash payment is not possible.
- The Deutschland-Ticket, which is discounted with the Hessenpass mobil, is issued as an eTicket on a chip card. The chip card allows the ticket to be checked throughout Germany. The chip card must be carried on all journeys.
It entitles you to use:
- Regional trains (RE, IRE, RB, S-Bahn) in 2nd class throughout Germany.
- Buses, trams and underground trains operated by transport associations, regional fare associations or transport companies throughout Germany.
- Ferry services, provided these are included in the transport association's fare.
- Where network fares also apply in neighbouring countries, the discounted Deutschland-Ticket can also be used
- It is not valid on Deutsche Bahn long-distance services (e.g. InterCity, ICE, EC) or other rail/long-distance bus operators (e.g. FlixTrain/FlixBus)
- The following applies in the RMV network area: A surcharge of €3.80 must be paid for the AirLiner from Darmstadt to Frankfurt Airport. The surcharge tickets are available from the driving personnel, the RMV sales offices of HEAG mobilo and in the HEAG mobilo app. For on-demand transport, there is no basic price; only a comfort surcharge and the kilometre price must be paid.
- In the VRN network area, you can also use it for journeys on the Krebsbachtalbahn and Bundenthaler railways, as well as for journeys to Lauterbourg and Wissembourg.
- No additional passengers may be carried.
- Children under the age of 7 who are not yet attending school may travel free of charge on buses and trains in the NVV area if they are accompanied by at least one person with a valid ticket.
- The Deutschland-Ticket with the Hessenpass mobil discount belongs to a specific person and cannot be transferred to other persons. Photo ID must be carried, e.g. identity card or residence permit, and presented during inspections.
- The Hessenpass mobil shows how long it is valid for. The low-cost Deutschland-Ticket is valid for one year. If you want to continue using it, you must submit a renewal application by the 10th of the month before it expires. To do this, you will need a new order form and must show your Hessenpass mobil, which must still be valid at that time.
- The Hessenpass mobile proof of eligibility usually lists the names of all persons living in the household who are eligible to receive the discount. If all persons wish to use the entitlement, it is advisable to make a copy of the letter for each person.
- If not all persons listed on the certificate wish to purchase a ticket, the consent of the persons listed must be obtained for presentation, or the relevant names and personal data must be made unrecognisable before this certificate is presented. This is for data protection reasons.

- As long as your Hessenpass mobil is still valid, you can buy a discounted Deutschland-Ticket that is valid for up to 12 months. For this to work, at least one day on which your Hessenpass mobil is valid must coincide with the first day of the discounted Deutschland-Ticket.
- Refunds are not possible after purchase. Proof of eligibility for the Hessenpass mobil must be presented when purchasing the Deutschland-Ticket.
- The regulations governing reimbursement remain unaffected. To check whether the costs will be reimbursed in your case, please contact the relevant authority.

Please note:
- The discounted Deutschland-Ticket with the Hessenpass mobil can be cancelled at any time. Please note: Cancellation must be made in writing by the 10th of the month. The cancellation will then take effect on the 1st day of the following month. If cancellation is made after the 10th of the month, the ticket will only expire at the end of the following month.
- Example: If you no longer wish to use the ticket from 1 March, you must cancel it by 10 February at the latest. If you cancel it on 11 February, the ticket will remain valid until 31 March.
