Students of the University of Kassel

Deutschlandsemesterticket

Since April 1, 2024

  • The Deutschlandsemesterticket enables students at the University of Kassel to travel throughout Germany on local public transport in 2nd class.
  • As before, the ticket is paid for by all students with the semester fee (upon enrolment or re-registration).

Since the 2025/26 winter semester, the Deutschlandsemesterticket has cost €34.80 per month.

The price is standardised across Germany. The ticket is paid for by all students as part of the semester fee for enrolment or re-registration in a fully solidarity-based model, making it particularly affordable.

The AStA will answer any questions regarding the semester ticket for the University of Kassel by email at deutschlandticket@asta.uni-kassel.de.

Students at the Management School of the University of Kassel (UNIKIMS) are exempt from paying for the semester ticket, the bicycle rental system and the culture ticket.

Students in these part-time degree programmes spend most of their time working rather than studying and are therefore not eligible for the Soli-Deutschlandticket.

If UNIKIMS students decide to enrol in another degree programme, they will of course receive a ticket as non-part-time students.

The Deutschland-Ticket may only be issued digitally, i.e. as an electronic ticket on smartphones or chip cards. This ensures verifiability and recognition nationwide.
For technical reasons, the CampusCard can unfortunately no longer be used as a medium for the ticket.
NVV and KVG have therefore quickly developed a technical solution that enables the ticket to be issued as a digital ticket for smartphones.

If you are unable to use a smartphone, e.g. due to a physical disability, please contact the AStA at deutschlandticket@asta.uni-kassel.de or visit the Social Affairs Department during office hours – we will find a solution for you so that you can use your Deutschlandsemesterticket.
